Upcoming Apple Watches could reportedly get non-invasive diabetes monitoring

Wearable technology is known to constantly take things up a notch by making health metrics accessible for users across age brackets. While Xiaomi announced its dedicated blood pressure monitoring smartwatch, Apple, too, has put a spotlight on its future plans for the Apple Watch.

A Bloomberg report highlights how the brand planned to introduce an Apple Watch for its users at some point, with blood pressure and sleep apnea monitoring. It even goes on to mention its plan to monitor diabetes and sugar levels in its users with its upcoming versions.

When will the update come to the new Apple Watches?

Despite the claims, Apple hasn’t commented on this feature being included within its Apple Watches anytime soon. However, the report talks about how preliminary tests conducted around this technology might bring it to our wrists with the Apple Watch Series 10. Once incorporated, the technology will certainly be revolutionalising wearable health devices by bringing crucial health results down to the user’s wrist.

That said, competition within the industry is rapidly amping up with similar features. Another non-invasive blood glucose monitoring device by Know Labs could be in the pipeline for users. This could include radiofrequency sensors to replace pricking the finger and to keep track of the fluctuating blood sugar levels in a prediabetic user.
